Famous tourist icon of the island of Malta fell into the sea after a major storm at 9:40 am on March 8.
Window Azure, the archway and famous tourist symbol of Malta, collapsed into the sea on the morning of March 8, after the storm. This information was formally stated on the personal page by Joseph Muscat, the prime minister of Malta. The prime minister said he was hurt by the incident.
Roger Chesell, a local, said he saw the beautiful dome suddenly collapsed into the sea. In the Times of Malta, Roger said at that time the sea was shaken, bubbling white foam. Malta Minister of Natural Resources and Environment also announced at the press conference that the government was investigating the exact cause of the incident.
He acknowledged Malta has lost a valuable asset, but the minister also emphasized Gozo has many other beautiful scenery to visitors to explore. Window Azure is a famous tourist symbol of Malta, attracting more than one million visitors every year. It also appeared in dozens of films, most recently Games of Thrones with the wedding scene of the character Dothraki.
